From the BBC:
Wiltshire vicar revives ancient archery law

A vicar has revived an ancient law to call members of her parish together for archery practice.

The Reverend Mary Edwards, of Collingbourne Ducis, near Marlborough, called residents to the village recreation ground on Friday.

Residents were rewarded for complying with the law with a bar, a barbecue and live music.

Church warden Mike Cox said: "It seems she's still entitled to do that."

Archery, barbecue and a bar from church. God Bless England!

That was evidently an ancient law passed when the longbow was the weapon of choice to defend one's district in Merry Olde. Therefore, by extension, would it not be legal in this day and age to convene for rifle practice, for the same purpose?

FALMOUTH – A man in a baseball cap and dress shoes – and nothing else – was arrested Sunday afternoon in Goodwill Park for riding a bicycle while nude.

Around 5 p.m., Falmouth police responded to a call that a naked man was riding a bike through the park between Gifford Street and Route 28.

When officers arrived, they found the bike leaning against a tree. Close by, on a path, they found Kevin Warren Patriquin, 40, of Falmouth, standing and watching visitors to the Grews Pond beach area located within the park, said police.

Summer has arrived!
