3 percent of babies born with syndrome

Because of an editing error, a chart on Page A10 of Wednesday’s Times contained incorrect information about the percentage of babies born at Cape Cod Healthcare hospitals with neonatal abstinence syndrome in 2015. Three percent of the babies born at Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital in 2015 were born with the syndrome.

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, the Community Notes column on Page B2 of Sunday’s edition included the wrong date of the first Mudflat Mania! volunteer guide training session at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. The session will be held 9 a.m. to noon May 31 at the museum on Route 6A, Brewster.

Incorrect email address in Write to Know

Because of a production error, a letter in the Write to Know column on Page B7 of Sunday’s Times from J.K. of South Yarmouth seeking Delftware pieces for the Garden Club of Hyannis included the wrong email address to contact J.K. The correct address is bassrivercapecod@comcast.net.

Because of a reporting error, a story on Parkers River Bridge that ran on Page A3 of Monday’s Times provided incorrect information on traffic plans during construction. A lane in each direction will remain open during bridge work.

Story about water contamination requires clarification

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Saturday’s Times requires clarification. The Air Force discovered elevated levels of 1,4 dioxane at its water treatment facility and began testing for it and perfluorinated compounds in nearby private wells. The Air Force is providing bottled water at homes in Pocasset near the locations of fuel tanker crashes at the Otis Rotary. Contamination there is likely from firefighting foam used at the scene, according to Air Force officials.

Beds remain open at Taunton hospital

Because of a writer’s error, the guest commentary titled “The dangers of privatized mental health care” on Page A10 of Saturday’s Times contained misleading information about Taunton State Hospital. The hospital has not closed. Its overall capacity has been reduced, but 45 psychiatric beds remain

Cell Phones for Soldiers not official Figawi partner

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, an item on Page A3 of Wednesday’s edition contained incorrect information about the relationship between Cell Phones for Soldiers and Figawi Inc. Figawi officials plan to honor veterans from the organization who are participating in the sailing race this weekend, but the two organizations are not official partners.

Heritage had permits to demolish fencing

Because of a writer’s error, a letter to the editor on Page A10 of Saturday’s Times misstated the legality of the demolition of 400 feet of fencing on Shawme Road in Sandwich. According to its attorney, Heritage Museums & Gardens had the proper permits to take down the section of fence.

Substance ‘tested presumptively positive for class B, cocaine’

Due to a reporting error, in a story published on May 24, “Mashpee men face drug charges,” it was incorrectly stated that a substance found in the subject’s house was cocaine. Police found

6 to 8 grams of a “white powdered substance that tested presumptively positive for class B, cocaine,” according to a police report.

Incorrect parking fees listed for Nauset Beach

Because of a production error, the parking fees at Nauset Beach in Orleans were incorrect on Page A2 of Saturday’s Times. A nonresident daily beach pass is $20, with a weekly pass rate of $75. A nonresident seasonal pass (Memorial Day through Sept. 18) is $220.

Positions, name, incorrect in Memorial Day story

Because of a reporter’s error, a story on Page A1 incorrectly identified Herman Bennett’s job on a B-24 Liberator during World War II. Bennett was the flight engineer. Also, because of a photographer’s error, the captions of two photos on Page A1 for the same story contained incorrect information. Anthony LaRocca, 12, is shown in one photo saluting the memorial stone of a local soldier at Mashpee Community Park and Veterans Garden. The other photo shows Bennett and VFW Post 5489 Quartermaster Melissa Lovell.

Recipe was missing note about oil substitute

Because of an editing error, a recipe for Five-Spice Shrimp Puffs on Page C3 of Wednesday’s Times did not explain the asterisk next to the ingredient of 2 tablespoons hot chili sesame oil. If a substitute is needed, use 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil with ½

teaspoon of hot pepper sauce, according to Pillsbury.com.

Eagle Scout graduated from Sturgis

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a story on Page A1 of Friday’s Times about Camp Greenough in Yarmouth Port incorrectly identified Eagle Scout Liam Furey’s high school.

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a story on Page A1 of Tuesday’s edition incorrectly stated the source of a call to Sheila Crowell informing her of her aunt’s death in Orlando. Crowell learned of the death through one of her aunt’s best friends.

Doctoral student’s name incorrect in shark story

Because of a reporter’s error, the name of MIT/WHOI doctoral student Camrin Braun was misspelled in a story on sharks that appeared on Page A1 of Sunday’s Cape Cod Times.

Correct crossword puzzle appears today

Because of a production error, the crossword puzzle that appeared in Sunday’s Times was the same one that was printed in the June 4 edition. The correct puzzle appears on Page B6

Hidden Scar breast surgery technique clarified

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Monday’s Times misstated the limitations of Hidden Scar breast surgery. The Hidden Scar technique is appropriate for lumpectomies for large-breasted women but is generally not used as a technique for mastectomy procedures for large-breasted women.

Deputy Police Chief Sean Balcom and Detective Peter Ginnetty chased and caught Hart after he allegedly rammed two unmarked police cruisers, according to police.

Mashpee picnic, fireworks moved to Saturday

Because of a schedule change after the publication deadline for today’s CapeWeek magazine, the guide to July Fourth events on Page 16 contains the wrong date for the community picnic and fireworks in Mashpee. Because of weather concerns, the event has been postponed until Saturday night. The picnic is due to begin at 5 p.m., and the fireworks to start at 9:15 p.m.

Willoughby still has his belongings in the office, according to the landlord.

Brewster reception set for Sunday

An event listing that appeared on Page 20 in Friday’s CapeWeek listed the incorrect date for the reception for the “Bronze Sculptures by Milton Teichman.” The reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Teichman Gallery at Route 6A and Sachem Drive in Brewster.

Polynesian boat Hokule’a open to public Monday

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a story on page A1 of Saturday’s Times listed an incorrect day for tours of the Polynesian double-hulled canoe Hokule’a that arrived in Woods Hole on Friday. The boat is open to the public from 1- 5 p.m. Monday.

In addition, because of a reporting error, the story misidentified a woman attending the event welcoming the Hokule’a. Trish Keliinui is a former member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Council.

Proposed solar array would be installed on hospital’s leaching field

Because of a reporter’s error, the area where a solar array is proposed at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Cod was incorrect in a story that appeared on Page A3 Wednesday. The ground-mounted solar array will be on the 6 to 7 acres where the hospital’s leaching field is located.

Citizens group is Protect our Cape Cod Aquifer

Because of a reporting error, the name of the citizens group rallying towns to fund a fight against Eversource herbicide spraying was incorrect. The group is Protect our Cape Cod Aquifer.

Time for transfer station meeting incorrect

Because of a reporting error, an item on Page A8 of Tuesday’s Times contained incorrect information about the time of one of the meetings to be held to discuss improvements at the Barnstable Transfer Station. The meetings will be held at 11 a.m. July 25 and 6 p.m. Aug. 2 at Barnstable Town Hall.
