Resident’s comment about town officials misstated

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A3 of Saturday's Times about the construction of a new parking area in Brewster misstated the contents of an email from resident Christopher Powicki. He wrote that town officials could avoid the perceived need for scapegoating by following the state's directives

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A5 of Tuesday’s Times contained incorrect information about who was in custody at the time of a series of raids in 2016 that targeted the Nauti-Block gang. Tyrone Gomes, 31, of Hyannis was in custody at the time.

Speaker’s identity incorrect in caption

Because of a photographer’s error, a photo caption on Page A3 of Wednesday’s Times incorrectly identified the speaker pictured. Joseph Gentile was the speaker.

Church concert in Brewster rescheduled

A special worship service by the female musical trio, Final Harvest, announced in a Religion brief on Page A7 of Saturday’s Times, has been canceled. The service, which was to be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Anglican Church of the Resurrection, which meets at the Brewster Council on Aging building on Route 6A, has been rescheduled to 6 p.m. Nov. 11 at the church.

Because of a reporting error, the wrong phone number was listed for ticket sales in a review of College Light Opera Company’s “Patience” on Page C2 of Thursday’s Times and in a “Quick Look” mini-review of “Patience” on Page 9 of today’s CapeWeek Summer magazine. The CLOC box office phone number is 508-548-0668.

Diver’s favorite team was Newcastle United

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Thursday’s Times misidentified Steven Slater’s favorite soccer team. He was a die-hard fan of Newcastle United.

New roof for art museum, not playhouse

Because of an editing error, a photo caption on page A4 of Wednesday’s Times incorrectly described repairs expected to be undertaken at the Cape Playhouse in Dennis. The theater recently won state funding both for a future evaluation of what repairs might be needed and to pay for some renovations that the study recommends. Cape Cod Museum of Art, on the same arts campus as the theater, also received state funding, which will pay for a new roof for the museum this fall.

Simmons named senior VP, chief financial officer

Because of a reporting error, a Cape Commerce item on Page B5 of Wednesday’s Times contained incorrect information about the positions Linda H. Simmons was appointed to at HarborOne Bank. Simmons was named senior vice president and chief financial officer at the bank.

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Monday’s Times gave the incorrect address for Kind Eating. It is in West Barnstable.

Decommissioning reps not expected on panel

Because of a writer’s error, the column “Our future of sharing territory with nuclear waste” on Page A8 of Tuesday’s Times contained incorrect information about a panel discussion following an Aug. 14 showing of the film “Containment.” The panel will feature Ph.D. scientists and possibly some legislators; members of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station’s decommissioning advisory committee will not be represented.

Wrong gender given for therapy dog

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a photo caption on Page A12 of Monday’s Times incorrectly identified the gender of Wynston, a dachshund therapy dog. Wynston is a male

Fishing regulations wrong in Catch of the Week

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, the Catch of the Week item on Page C1 of Tuesday’s Times contained errors regarding fishing regulations. The commercial minimum fish size for black sea bass in Massachusetts is 12 inches, and a fisherman using pots could have begun landing fish July 9

Marine monument first in Atlantic Ocean

Because of a writer’s error, the editorial on Page A7 of Tuesday's Times contained incorrect information about the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument. It is the first such monument in the Atlantic Ocean to have been designated under the Antiquities Act of 1906; four others exist in the Pacific Ocean.

The graphic shows only churches that have attained “Open and Affirming” certification from the United Church of Christ. Other denominations have similar programs that are intended to welcome LGBTQ individuals.

Because of a photographer's error, a photo caption on Page A3 of Wednesday's Times included the incorrect time for tours of Nobska Light in Woods Hole.

Friends of Nobska Light volunteers are hosting tours from 10 a.m. to noon every Tuesday and Thursday through the end of August, before scheduled repairs to the lighthouse begin in

In the production, which was presented by ArtistsAndMusicians.org, “ I used to write ...” was performed by Lee Roscoe, and Cynthia Harrington presents “Cold droplets bead across my brow...” The play will be presented Oct. 3-4 at Cape Cod Community College in West Barnstable and Oct. 13-15 in Provincetown.

Day of Hyannis overdose incorrect

Because of a reporting error, an item on Page A2 of Friday’s Times incorrectly stated the day on which police and firefighters responded to an overdose at the intersection of Bearse’s Way and Route 28 in Hyannis. The incident occurred Thursday.

Antique car show directions incorrect

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a story about Dennis Summerfest on Page 16 of Friday’s CapeWeek magazine included incorrect information about the route of the Dennis Antique Car Parade, which begins at 11 a.m. Sunday at West Dennis Beach. From the beach, the parade will go north on Lighthouse Road, turn right on Lower County Road, turn right on Old Wharf Road, take a quick right on Depot Street, turn left on Chase Avenue, turn left on Lower County Road, turn right on Trotting Park Road, cross Route 28 while still on Trotting Park, turn right on Old Main Street, cross the four-way stop at Liberty Hall and continue straight on Old Main, bear left on Old Bass River Road to Route 6A, take a right and then a left at the Cape Playhouse

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a concert on Page 4 of Friday's CapeWeek magazine listed the wrong information for the beneficiary and phone number for the box office for The Pilgrim Pops Chorus: 'Broadway Giants: Richard Rodgers & Cole Porter' concert taking place 5 to 7 p.m.

Sunday at the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 533 Route 28, Harwich Port.

The concert benefits the church’s outreach programs (including the music ministry.) The box office phone number is 508-432-9037.

Monomoy schools omitted from roundup

Because of a reporter’s error, a back-to-school roundup that ran on Page A1 of Sunday’s Cape Cod Times omitted information from the Monomoy Regional School District.

This year, the Monomoy district shifts to a later start times for teens. Monomoy Regional High School and Monomoy Regional Middle School will begin at 8:45 a.m. The district’s elementary schools begin at 7:45 a.m.

Three new athletic fields in front of Monomoy Regional High School are finally ready for full use. The district has hired two new tech ed teachers and one graphic design teacher for new opportunities in computer programming, engineering, and cutting-edge visual arts.

Based on programs piloted last year, all Monomoy high school and middle school students will have an individualized block of time each day scheduled to support students’ interests and/ or needs. High school students have a “Jawsome” Power Hour lunch block, where students choose among enrichment activities or additional help from their teachers.

This summer, Harwich Elementary School’s cafeteria had a makeover of flooring, lighting and paint, and Chatham Elementary School’s playground was transformed from a sandlot to a grass-covered play space.

The group will present “Baroque Fireworks,” featuring the music of Handel and Bach, with soloists and chamber orchestra, at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 and 3 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Monomoy Performing Arts Center at Monomoy Regional High School in Harwich.

Restaurant name wrong in story about hurricane

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a story on Page A1 of Monday's Times included the wrong name for a Woods Hole restaurant where a fundraiser for to raise money for the island of St. John in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. The restaurant is The 41-70

Vote on Cape Tech set for Oct. 24

Because of an editing error, a letter to the editor on Page A10 of Saturday's Times listed the wrong date for the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School District vote on a new school building. The correct date for the vote is Oct. 24.

Man alive after fall down stairs in Yarmouth

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a log item on Page A2 of Tuesday's paper reported that a 58-year-old man had died after falling down stairs in West Yarmouth. The man is alive, according to family members and police.
